the clans are suffering. leaf-bare has hit hard this year, sparking changes within the clans that will never again let them be the same. prey has gone into hiding, and herbs are being decimated unto the frost and snow. the clans are struggling, becoming weaker. warriors are growing thin, as there is so little prey to fuel the clan. illness runs rampant as tempers flair and old rivalries ignite. this is a time of war.

riverclan is the strongest of the clans, clinging to the river for their life support. most of it is frozen over, but deeper places still remain visible for fishing. felines must be careful when treading upon the ice - fall through and there is no returning. the clans are anxious, at each other's throats, yet riverclan has remained oddly silent and neutral. unannounced to the rest of the clans, they are plotting. riverclan is the strongest, least affected by the harsh leaf-bare, and they intend to take advantage of that. their numbers are growing at alarming rates, are they accepting loners into their ranks to build their numbers?

the question is, who will they strike first?

So what does this mean?

• leaf-bare has weakened all the clans - they are struggling.
• hostility runs rampant as the clans are growing restless, threatening war upon one another.
• riverclan is least affected by the harsh winter - they are the strongest of the clans for the time being.
• riverclan is planning an attack on one of the other clans - they intend to take advantage of their strength to either take over or push out their enemies.
• riverclan has begun accepting loners into their ranks to build their numbers and wage war.
• when there are enough characters in play, we will proceed with the plot.

the remaining three clans begin to notice riverclan's odd silence and increasing strength. they are unsettled by the threat of war the looms over one another. the clans are suffering and there is no certainty as to how much hardship they will be able to survive. shadowclan decides to ally with riverclan, knowing they cannot overcome the threat. the two clans work together to grow in strength, leaving thunderclan and windclan vulnerable to attack. and when they do - it will never be the same.

So what does this mean?

• shadowclan allies with riverclan in secrecy.
• together, they oppose one of the other clans (which will be voted on) and attack.
• riverclan and shadowclan take down said clan, claiming the territory and it's inhabitants as prisoners of war.
• the last remaining clan is vulnerable and must either choose to surrender or find away to rise up alongside the defeated clan.
